This Periodontics Mastertrack is 3-days (21 CE) of in-person workshops with Dr. Jim Grisdale, a board certified periodontist, mastering the following topics: contemporary flap surgery, predictable crown lengthening and workshopping intermediate to advanced suturing techniques.
This course will include hands-on workshops performed on pig jaws in order to provide the most similar feel to human tissue and you will have direct access to Dr. Grisdale's mentorship in a very intimate group setting.

This course is designed to provide the clinician with both the scientific background and the surgical techniques to perform periodontal flap surgery and achieve predictable results. The participant will gain the knowledge and skills to recognize, diagnose and treatment plan periodontal cases. All phases of periodontal flap surgery from incisions to suturing techniques will be covered in detail. The hands-on portion will be performed on pig jaws.
This hands-on workshop will focus on the different techniques utilized in surgical crown extension for esthetic and functional cases. Indications and contraindications for crown lengthening will be addressed. The concept of biologic width and ferrule effect as it applies to crown lengthening will be covered. Proper case selection, flap types and management from incisions, flap elevation, osseous surgery and suturing techniques will also be presented. This course is a must for all dentists who are providing esthetic and functional crown restorations to their patients.
This course is a must for all dentists and surgical team members performing implant, periodontal and oral surgery. Suture materials, techniques and instrumentation will be discussed in detail. Participants will have the opportunity to practice different suturing techniques for specific clinical procedures. All procedures will be performed on pig mandibles.
This course will focus on the different techniques utilized in esthetic and functional crown lengthening. Soft and hard tissue surgical approaches will be emphasized. Proper case selection, flap types and management from incisions, flap elevation, osseous surgery, and suturing techniques for predictable wound healing will be covered. Newer technology for crown lengthening will also be introduced.
This is a must course for the dentist and surgical team member placing implants, performing periodontal surgery and oral surgery. Optimal wound care aims at maximizing functional restoration as well as optimizing the esthetic result. The selection of suture material in implant, periodontal surgery and oral surgery is very important due to the unique characteristics of the oral cavity. All aspects of suturing will be discussed including the advantages and disadvantages of different suture types, sizes of suture material, needles, instrumentation and how to achieve tension free closure and primary intension healing for predictable healing outcomes.
Dr. Grisdale is a Board Certified Specialist in Periodontics and Prosthodontics with a part-time periodontics/implant practice in Vancouver, B.C. and was formerly Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics, Advanced Dental Education in Periodontics Postgraduate Residency Program at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Currently Dr. Grisdale is an invited lecturer at Loma Linda School of
Dentistry. Dr. Grisdale received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from McGill University, as well as a postgraduate degree in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. He then went on to the University of British Columbia where he received an additional postgraduate degree in Periodontics.
Dr. Grisdale received the Award of Merit for Restorative Dentistry from McGill University. He lectures extensively in the United States, Canada and has lectured in Europe and Asia. He is a mentor for Periodontic and Implant Study Clubs. He is also an invited lecturer for Continuing Dental Education at U.B.C. Dr. Grisdale has published in the area of treatment for dentin sensitivity, implants, bone regeneration and soft tissue periodontal adhesives. He is an active participant in clinical research and the study of contemporary periodontal products. He is a member of several professional societies.

Registration course fees must be paid in full prior to the course. If such payment is not made, the registrant’s reservation for the course may be cancelled at the sole discretion of Edropin Inc. All cancellations have a mandatory 2.9 % plus $0.30 non-refundable credit card fee. The following cancellation policy applies for all courses: (i) cancellation 90 calendar days prior to the start date of the course – full refund; minus any processing fees (ii) cancellation between 90 and 30 calendar days prior to the start date of the course – refund less a 25% administration fee; (iii) cancellation less than 30 calendar days prior to the start date of the course – no refund.
