The AGD Fellowship Review Course was designed to provide a refresher in 17 dental disciplines, as well as to assist members in preparing for the Fellowship Exam, a 252-item, multiple choice test that covers accepted knowledge, techniques and procedures in general dentistry. As part of the course, registrants will receive downloadable study materials. All course handouts will be provided in electronic form only. Members can download them to their laptops in advance of the course.
Course Materials will be available in September for those registered.

Disclaimer: The Fellowship Review Course is a review of currently accepted knowledge, techniques, and practices in general dentistry. Members may sit for this course as part of their preparation for the Fellowship Exam; however, taking this course does not guarantee that a member will pass the exam. The course should not be one's sole preparation for the exam. Information on the content of the Fellowship Exam is held in strictest confidence. Candidates are expected to draw on their own practical experiences as they take the Fellowship Exam.
Fellowship Exam:
The AGD Fellowship Exam is a four hour, 252 question multiple choice test emphasizing clinical applications of accepted dental knowledge, techniques, and procedures. The Fellowship Exam fee is a separate fee from the course registration fee. After completion of the course you will be able to sign up to register to sit for the exam at a local testing facility of your choice at the time slot that you choose.
From 1982 to 2012, Dr. Williams spent 30 years in the United States Navy where he provided dental care worldwide as a member of the Navy Dental Corps. During this time, he completed two residency programs and served in many positions such as AEGD Director, Public Health Emergency Officer for FEMA Region 5, served on various faculty positions at both medical and dental schools, and developed and taught substance abuse and addiction curriculum for the Navy, Department of Defense, VA, and other national and local programs. Dr Williams also helped create the National Prevention Strategy for the Affordable Care Act. After retirement in 2012, he joined the faculty at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Illinois where he was recently promoted to Professor. Dr. Williams continues to also provide lectures on various dental topics to include a 16-hour lecture series that provides a comprehensive review of general dentistry, plus numerous topics to include geriatrics, poly pharmacy, office emergencies, pain control, anesthesia, and tobacco/vaping/cannabis.
The YM Education Center is a new, state-of-the-art educational facility in Chantilly, VA and home to YM Dental Lab. The venue is conveniently located 25 miles from Washington DC.
There is ample, free parking in front of the facility.
Registration opens at 7:30 am, course to begin promptly at 8:00 am.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day as well as coffee, soft drinks and water.
If an attendee cancels his/her course registration once the course materials have been sent out, then the attendee will be responsible for the processing fee of $20 as well as the overall cost of the materials in the amount of $150. This includes the cost of the access of the course handouts if the attendee accessed/downloaded the materials. Attendees who do not contact us to cancel their registration by the date of the course will forfeit their entire course fee. Exceptions to the cancellation policy (emergencies, illness, etc.) will be considered on an individual basis and may require documentation for verification.

Virginia AGD is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing education programs of this program provider are accepted by the AGD for Fellowship/Mastership and membership maintenance credit.
